While the 2000 Shiraz/Cabernet The Signature (57% Cabernet Sauvignon and 43% Shiraz) is outstanding, it is not the blockbuster this cuvee can sometimes be. Its ruby/purple color is accompanied by a spicy, earthy bouquet revealing scents of underbrush, black fruits, pepper, and background oak. This solidly made, structured 2000 will drink well for 7-10 years.

The 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon/Shiraz The Signature is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Shiraz that spent 20 months in a combination of French and American hogsheads as well as smaller barrels. Its deep, sweet perfume of blackberries, camphor, damp earth, vanilla, licorice, and pepper is followed by a powerful, flavorful, intense wine revealing high tannins as well as impressive concentration. This superb Cabernet should easily age for 12-15 years.

Oct 2004 Robert Parker 94 Drink 2006 - 2024 $65-$68 (45)
The dense purple-colored 2001 Shiraz/Cabernet The Signature (60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Shiraz) offers sweet aromas and flavors of blackberries, earth, cassis, and vanilla. The Signature offering spends 22 months in both new and used French and American oak. With considerable power, flavor intensity, and structure, the big, serious 2001 should hit its prime in 2-3 years, and last for two decades.
